What is Gastroparesis?
Gastroparesis is a condition in which the muscles in your stomach don't function normally. This prevents the stomach from emptying properly. Gastroparesis interferes with digestion, causes nausea and stomach pain, and causes problems with blood sugar levels and nutrition, which leaves you weak with limited energy.
Gastroparesis is chronic, and there is no current cure.

Meet Carolanne, my niece.
Carolanne was diagnosed with Gastroparesis in April, 2013. This illness grabbed hold of her during her junior year at college. Since then, Carolanne has lost over 50 pounds. Not because she wanted to, but because her digestive system was no longer functioning as it should. Carolanne is dedicated to informing others about this rare condition.
Because of her condition, and having to be in the hospital every week, she was not able to return to the University of Pittsburgh to finish school.
We are hopeful that Carolanne will be able to complete her senior year of college in the near future.
